There will be an evening of Sheffield Carols at the Hillsborough Hotel Langsett Road on Sunday 19th start around 8.30p.m. A number of people have been invited and hopefully should be a good night.

Thanks to everyone who turned up last night we had a good sing. I think we gave the 'God Squad' a run for their money. Special thanks to James & Nancy for the Australian carol and for Viccky's Unitarian Carol (think the vicar was summoning blue thunderbolts for that one) also to Jerry, Jess and Gv for help with pitching.

I started out. Foolishly instead of coming on the tram - we decided to come by car.

That decision was a daft one and the inside of the car was so iced up we would have spent ages cleaning it. Daft - so we stayed in and I drank some of my Christmas beer.

As it happens, I came across that Unitarian Carol (God Rest Ye Unitarians) right here on Mudcat -- in the Christmas Parodies thread.

Thanks Conrad -- that's our choir -- the Sheffield Folk Chorale. Just had our big "Spitewinter" concert in Sheffield Cathedral last night -- it was a blast! And this year's musical guests -- James Fagan & Nancy Kerr -- were sublime.
