Subject: RE: McGrath of Harlow: UPDATE Feb. 3 From: GUEST,Howard Clark Date: 26 Nov 12 - 10:09 AM Just had a message from Peace News that someone had just come into his shop in Totnes and asked about you. So Paul phoned PN to see if anyone knew, and I - now living in Madrid - got the message and started googling. Hope you're staying well after that shock described above. Glad to see you're still singing - and now writing songs too. all the best Howard |

Subject: RE: McGrath of Harlow: UPDATE Feb. 3 From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 04 Feb 11 - 08:37 AM It is an amazing stained glass interior - and no one seems to know about it. They should be beating their way to see it. A hidden jewel. It was made by monks at Buckfast Abbey in Devon, and here's a picture of a remarkable window from the same people, which is at the Abbey itself. Great to see you here again Aine!! |

Subject: RE: McGrath of Harlow: UPDATE Feb. 3 From: Jeri Date: 03 Feb 11 - 05:53 PM Welcome, back, Kevin! The "swimming pool couple" did well. Lots of people learn CPR, but no one knows if they'll actually do it when the opportunity presents itself. Some freeze up. (I was one of those, but I think Imay be better.) I'm glad you came out the arse end of this. I still think Catspaw wins the prize for direst medical situation survived though. |

You and I tend to talk more about tech things than music - I suppose you have a whole new expertise on techie things, medical-wise. I hope I don't have to rely on your observations in this field! Let's get back to discussing web pages and recording/editing devices! Maggie |

Subject: RE: McGrath of Harlow: UPDATE Feb. 3 From: GUEST,BBP at work Date: 03 Feb 11 - 11:46 AM Kevin, I've been lurking, reading this thread over the weeks and quietly rooting for you. But, the "blue clicky thing" above just made me laugh out loud - thanks for putting the silly grin back on my face and keep getting better. |
Subject: RE: McGrath of Harlow: UPDATE Feb. 3 From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 03 Feb 11 - 11:06 AM McGrath himself. Back home properly, touch wood. This is an amazing thread. I read bits of it Ciaran printed out for me, but when I've got the energy I'll read the whole thing. Right now I'm still pretty bushed. Thanks for all the good wishes and good thoughts. Actually going back in our local hospital was quite good and strange, because the Accident and Emergency rooms were full of people who'd worked to save me back on 19th December, when my heart just stopped in church, and caused general consternation, and the swimming pool couple stepped in and did CPR on a real person for the first time. Anyway the A & E people were excited and pleased, because most stories like mine don't end too well - a nurse said maybe one in 50... I felt a bit like Harry Potter, "the boy who didn't die". I hadn't realised it was that close. I think the Mudcat good wishes must have been backdated to help out. Incidentally here is a set of photos of the church it all happened in. Great setting for a final curtain - but I'm glad it wasn't. I was wiser than I knew when I wrote: Well I try to explain, and you might understand, it's a fine place to go to when you're feeling grand - but when your heart's heavy, and you're shackled and pinned, you can reach out for help with the Blue Clicky Thing |

Subject: RE: McGrath of Harlow: UPDATE Jan. 30 From: An Pluiméir Ceolmhar Date: 02 Feb 11 - 06:35 AM Just popped into the Mudcat after a long absence, and was shocked to read this thread. My very best wishes to Kevin, with whom I have PM'd in the past during some flame war or other, because I found him to be a kindred spirit and a rock of common sense. Coincidentally, the occasion of my visit today was the poem An Bunnán Buí, which is a warning of the danger of adopting too healthy a lifestyle, especially during winter weather. |
Subject: RE: McGrath of Harlow: UPDATE Jan. 30 From: My guru always said Date: 02 Feb 11 - 03:52 AM Keep on taking it easy Kevin! Did anyone get him a big Teddy Bear to hug when he feels like coughing? I thought that was an excellent suggestion! |
