Subject: Mid Winter Revels, Charity Gig, Derby From: SylviaN Date: 11 Jan 11 - 04:32 PM On Sunday 16 January between 6 and 8.30 p.m. come to the Darwin Suite at the Derby Assembly Rooms on and celebrate a family friendly evening of music, song and dance from the Derbyshire folk scene with the multi-talented DERBYSHIRE VOLUNTEERS. This multi-talented band are some of the finest musicians and singers in the county featuring: Keith Kendrick, John Squire, Oli Matthews, Ian Carter, Alan Woolley, Mick Peat, John Hart, Sylvia Needham, Michelle Short, Pete Bullock, Sarah Matthews, Alan Squires, Fi Fraser, Bob Rushton, Doug Eunson, Giles Henshaw, Howard Mitchell and John Adams. They will help you to drive those mid-winter blues away in true traditional style – voices raised – concertinas pressed – fiddles caressed – banjos plucked – guitars strummed – melodeons squeezed – bodhrans belted – brass bellowed – and keyboards tinkled. Whether a listener or a dancer, The Derbyshire Volunteers delight audiences wherever they perform. Remember – all proceeds to charity. Tickets £12, concessions £10 available from the Assembly Rooms Box Office 01332 255800, online www.derbylive.co.uk or the PR Ticket Hotline 01773 853428 01773 853428 |

Subject: RE: Mid Winter Revels, Charity Gig, Derby From: SylviaN Date: 16 Jan 11 - 07:56 PM Just come back from a really enjoyable night - at least those of us in the Derbyshire Volunteers had a great time, and we think the audience did as well. The proceeds from the event will probably go to 2 charities - the RSPCA and a local charity that gives children, who otherwise wouldn't be able to afford it, a week's holiday. Cheers Sylvia |
