Loftus Arts & Music Program (L.A.M.P.)
Presents the Five Day Staithes Open Acoustic Music Festival 2011 from Wednesday 27th to Sunday 31st July 2011.

The old camp site is for sale and will not be available in 2011 so we will be in the new camp site as first used in 2010. Open from Noon Wednesday 27th July to noon Monday 1st August. Camping is £10.00 per unit, caravan, Motor home or tent for up to four people. For anyone staying three nights or more the cost will be £25.00 per unit. Single occupants will be charged £7.00 per night or £20.00 for three or more nights. Awnings / Gazebos will be charged an additional £10.00.

As space is at a premium, booking is essential, and will be on a first come basis. Cheque for full amount, to be made out to L.A.M.P. Send Payment to

Please indicate caravan or tent etc and dates of arrival and departure

This festival is based 100% on audience participation. There will be a number of recognized stars joining us. All events are FREE so no one gets paid. Every type of acoustic music will be welcomed and encouraged. You cannot book a spot. Everyone who attends just turns up when it suits them and take their turn .It's just one song at a time for everyone. There are no electrics, so it keeps coming round fairly quickly. If one room looks like it's getting too busy we just open another room.

A DIY weekend with some themes and fines e.g. finger in the ear would mean a £1 fine!
Some places for motorhomes but we would prefer you reserve places in advance.

Sorry no facilities for tents.
En suite rooms are £100 PER ROOM for the three nights i.e. £33.33 per night.

A deposit of £50 will secure a room for the 3 nights.
Hoping to raise some money for Macmillan Cancer Support and generally to have

a good weekend of Folk Song and Music.

It is a shame Doug enjoyed seeing you play.
Mr Elder the venue is The Captain Cook in at the Top of Staithes by the big car park.
It is not a festival where you pay to get in and sit down to listen to star turns. It is a make your own entertainment do. There is a campsite on a school field and you can probably get b+b in Staithes too.
Beer is assorted real ales and generally seems surprisingly cheap.
Think of it as five days in an old pub in a beautiful part of the world and you won't go far wrong. Lots of local musicians come and play and you are wewelcome to as well.

Should add that there are two rooms in the Captain Cook,the bar being the usual venue but if it gets a bit full or it turns to jammimg there is a smaller quieter second room where if you keep the doors shut
You can listen to some unaccompanied song or the quieter players amongst us it really is quite pleasant.

It sounds the type of event I like. I certainly hope I can get there, the small room sounds good, I am still learning and require practice, but I do like singing and am a good listener.
I will Google B&Bs in the area.

Sorry Dave no I meant to say that there are two rooms for performance the main Bar area and a Dining room which is separate and quieter....
the Pub does do accommodation but when I inquired last week they were fully booked.
Mr Elder I hope you manage to get fixed up with accommodation and might I suggest you contact Neil at the Captain Cook He may have some ideas where you can try.

Nice one Ann . I have heard that the Captain Cook is fully booked re rooms but if you are looking for lodgings in the area try getting in touch with Neil Redman. He is a very helpful chap.

The last bus home leaves Staithes Lane end just after 8.10pm Mon to Sat & at 8.33pm on Sunday so finding lodgings won't be necessary ....... hopefully   :)
