Subject: RE: Tech: Performance and the Subconscious Mind From: GUEST,Suibhne Astray Date: 10 Feb 11 - 08:01 AM I reckon all music is Sub Human - it's our animal cries & calls operating on a purely instinctive level as we rejoice in the collective cause of life itself. They ponder the wellsprings of music, well we were singing together long before we were talking to each other, and it still operates in that way. What's Green Man got against Modern Music anyway? All music is Modern by default in its actual context and your actual Popular Music (Popular as in People and people as in Folk) Traditions have remained pretty constant throughout history I'd say. Performance context is always a ceremonial / ritual space for the collective sharing of transcendent experience, from Folk Club to Night Club, though these days you're less likely to pull at the former. |
