Subject: Burning Heart (Japanese Christian summer From: Haruo Date: 20 Feb 11 - 12:38 PM I wonder if anyone here (Masato?) can throw any light on my questions about the Japanese Christian (summer-camp?/summer-vacation?) song "Burning Heart" (first line "真青な空と海に"). I posted the first verse and my general queries here in my hymnblog. Haruo |

Subject: RE: Burning Heart (Japanese Christian summer From: masato sakurai Date: 24 Feb 11 - 10:56 PM Hi, Haruo, Long time no see. I'm hale and hearty. The hymn was originally composed for summer camps. The two people are Hirofumi Yoneda and Junko Yoneda. I don't know about their biographies. See this page for some info on the song. |
Subject: RE: Burning Heart (Japanese Christian summer From: Haruo Date: 25 Feb 11 - 01:23 AM Masato sensei ne, ‚Ç‚¤‚à‚ ‚肪‚Æ‚¤‚²‚´‚¢‚Ü‚·! That website is a wonderful resource I had previously not been aware of. I only wish there were a similar resource for songs that were in the 1954 Ž]"ü‰Ì but didn't make it into Ž]"ü‰Ì21, such as my perennial interest in the 1954 text to HYMN TO JOY... What is the name (in romaji, that is) of the camp referred to in the notes on hymn #555? Also, do you have any idea if the two Yoneda-santati are husband and wife, brother and sister, or what? Please don't go so long between postings here, you had me worried! Haruo |
Subject: RE: Burning Heart (Japanese Christian summer From: Haruo Date: 25 Feb 11 - 03:15 AM Sorry about the encoding glitches in my attempt to write Japanese here. Romanized, the first paragraph of the foregoing post should read Masato sensei ne, dōmo arigatō gozaimasu! That website is a wonderful resource I had previously not been aware of. I only wish there were a similar resource for songs that were in the 1954 Sanbika but didn't make it into Sanbika21, such as my perennial interest in the 1954 text to HYMN TO JOY... |
