Subject: Lyric Req.:Rock Cried Out... From: wrngtl@aol.com Date: 10 Nov 96 - 01:49 AM Hi! I heard what is probably a black gospel song a few weeks ago, and am looking for complete lyrics. I don't know if it's ever been released as a recording (I heard it on tv). I think it might be called "The Rock Cried Out, No Hiding Place", but I'm not sure. Part of the lyrics go: "I went to the rock to hide my face But the rock cried out "No hiding place, No hiding place down here." Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, L. McBride |

Date: 01 Sep 01 - 01:21 PM The Tarriers had a minor hit with it when they released it as a follow-up to their 1956 hit, "The Banana Boat Song". (I think it was on the flip side of my 45 of this song.) Just a side note to this: A young Vince Martin used to sing with the Tarriers and released a song, "Cindy, Oh Cindy" with them. Many years later, Vince teamed up with Fred Neil to record their "Tear Down the Walls" album in 1964. |
