Sara Grey and Kieron Means Perform in Gettysburg, March 13

Sara Grey and Kieron Means will present a free concert on Sunday, March 13, 4pm, at the Lutheran Theological Seminary Chapel, Gettysburg. Sara has a certain quality of voice that compels you to give her your undivided attention. But it's not Sara's lovely voice alone that makes her one of the most popular singers on the folk scene. For many of her songs Sara accompanies herself by frailing a five-string banjo, and it's obvious why she is regarded as one of the foremost exponents of the old-time style, as well as an extraordinary song-collector and fine storyteller. Kieron Means' voice is as smooth as silk, rich and mellow. "His skillful guitar accompaniments are sparse and understated, doing just enough to support the song. His material draws from the deepest wellsprings of North American culture, from the old-time music of the Southern mountains to the blues." Sing Out! magazine observes, "There is an intoxicating comfort in everything Sara Grey does these days… and the pleasure of keeping the tradition alive with her son, Kieron Means, can be easily witnessed in every note and every glance in their live performances." Once you have heard this mother and son duo sing together you will never forget their natural blend and haunting harmonies.
