To all our Borderline Friends,

Well, it looks like we are finally on the map and people are beginning to discover that we exist, right in their own back yard. Our last 2 shows in January and February featuring Loretta Hagen and Mark Miklos respectively were complete sellouts, in the middle of the winter, no less.

Our next concert on Sunday afternoon, March 27th will in all probability do just as well. For the first time in our history we will be presenting a Grammy nominee, DAN SCHATZ who is a fabulous musician with a sweet pleasant voice. He plays many instruments including the guitar, dulcimer, autoharp, & banjo. He sings traditional songs, covers, and his own compositions which are written in the traditional style. Dan does it all. We first heard him perform 5 years ago at one of Jean Ritchie's garden parties and we knew then that we were going to book him sometimes in the future. Since then he has put out 3 albums. As an added bonus he will be accompanied by the lovely Mara Levine on harmony vocals. Mara is no stranger to The Borderline having appeared here on 3 ocassions.

Opening the show will be one of our own Borderline members, MAGGIE SELIGMAN, who can be described as an acoustic/eclectic folksinger. In the 3 years that we have known her we have seen Maggie blossom forth from a regular at our song circles to an upcoming star in the folk world.
Her first album "Rubato" was put out this past year. I am sure you will all enjoy her immense talent.

The concert begins promptly at 2 PM. The venue is the New City Volunteer Ambulance Corps located at 200 - Congers Road, New City, NY 10956. Admission is $20 per person ($15 for Borderline members), and we ask that you bring a cold pot luck dessert dish to share with 4 other people. Please remember that we are an alcohol free venue.

Based upon the experience of our last 2 concerts, we strongly recommend advance reservations, so we know how much food and seating to prepare for. This can be done by e-mail to solz1@optonline.net or by calling me at (845) 354-4586. Additional information is available on our website which is www.borderlinefolkmusic.4themax.com

See you all on March 27th
SOL ZELLER (President)

Dan - I am sure that our audience will be more touched by your performance than you were by my write-up about you. You are a very special performer indeed.
