Our 3rd CD 'Cape Farewell' is complete and ready to purchase. (at last). The title track and 4 more of the 14 tracks were written by Linda Kelly and this time round we have added songs from some of our favourite local songwriting friends including 'Ranters Wharf' by John Conolly. Recorded in Sleights by Ken Hall, we have added guitar, fiddle and concetina accompaniment and offer thanks to David Swann, David Oakley and Marion Hall respectively and add thanks to Geoff Lawes.

Please PM me or Linda and we'll post discs out - or if you plan to attend Ellesmere Port at Easter or Upton upon Severn the following weekend we'll see you there and you can save on postage!

As an aside, I think David Oakley is one of the most emotive violin/fiddle players I have ever heard. Note perfect, great harmonies when they're what's called for. I love his work and miss him here on Mudcat. David, if you hear about this thread, please know I hold your music/playing in the highest esteem.

Nutty as a fruitcake that Dave Oakley and still manages to be possibly the finest fiddle player I have ever had the good fortune to hear. Congratulations on your new CD Hissyfit I shall look forward to getting a copy next time I see you, if it's as good as the previous one's it will be brilliant.

i'm really looking forward to this CD. Hissyfit are brilliant at the best of times but having been recorded by Ken on two different occassions I know just how good he is at producing harmony CD's. I'm sure this will be their best yet.

Congratulations Hazel and Linda! Your Cd arrived yesterday and I have been repeatedly playing it since then. It is terrific. I had not heard Alrewas before and it is a beautiful song. Well written Linda.

I had also not heard of the National Memorial Arboretum before so I looked it up on the net. In case anyone else wants to find out about it the link is HERE    Alrewas is a great song, well sung, with beautiful harmonies - and there are another 13 songs on the Cd. Great!

I Finally got my hot little hands on a copy last night after their Stonking set at Herga (Brilliant, Girls) and am Gobsmacked at the beauty of it !! I have been listening to them since the very beginning of Hissyfit and Thought they were very good but last night live and now this , it is the absolute canines testicles!!! Yes, SINS, I think I got it at David Coffin's gig. I'm fine as long as I leave things a mess, but I cleaned my car. That always means I can't find some things for at least a few months.
