Subject: Dublin songs From: GUEST Date: 26 Mar 11 - 06:26 AM Singer/Songwriter Paul O Brien, now living in Holland, makes a rare appearance in his hometown of Dublin on Saturday 2nd April at 8.30 in "The Flowing Tide" (opposite the Abbey Theatre). Paul has written more than 40 songs about Dublin, in particular about where he grew up, in the East Wall in the 60s. He published an excellent book "Songs of the North Lotts" in 2009 and a few remaining copies, along with a double CD of the 40 songs in the book, will be available on the night at 15 euro for the package. Paul will be supported on the night with "More from the Floor", a motley crew of wellknown and unknown Dublin floorsingers. Admission: Priceless! Just have a Dublin song ready. If you are unfortunate to live outside Dublin, you can sample his work, or buy online, at www.paulobrien.eu. Hope to see you there |

Subject: RE: Dublin songs From: zozimus Date: 30 Mar 11 - 05:47 PM Hi Mick, Yeah, it's shapin' up to being a great night. If we can't get more stools from upstairs I'll have a standin' ovation before I even start! Yourself, Paul and Pat de Verse Burke might even start a "Dublin Songwriters Anonymous Group". I don't seem to have a link for Ann Buckley. If you have her number, tell she's on. Tony |
