Thanks to all of you who came to our second open mic-singaround.

Once again, a most enjoyable evening, everyone on good form and very entertaining, and the landlord and the locals all loved it.

Now, please note - The next one WILL be held on Thursday 26th May as originally planned, so ignore my last message.

All welcome, whether players, singers, poets or growlers or just fancy a drink in a nice pub.

Thanks to all who came to our first open mic-singaround. A good time was had by everyone, including the locals, and the musical standard was very high!

The next one will held on Wednesday 18th May. All welcome, whether players, singers, poets or growlers.

Please note that there will NOT be one on the last Thursday in May as originally intended.

Thanks for your comment FloraG, though we're not planning a night of unaccompanied singing, rather a singaround to include folks accompanying their singing with guitars, mandolins, banjos, melodeons, fiddles, bohrans etc. Not that there's anything wrong with unnaccompanied singing of course :-)

We can't make the 28th, but it is good to hear of a new venue with accomodating owners. 7 champs had some ace musos I expect they still have. I'm not sure how wise it is to stipulate the type of session until it occurs. Most musicians can sing - but is not always the case the other way round. A night of unaccompanied singing can be a bit dire - a mixed session adds variety.
I was a bit disappointed not to hear you each sing the other tuesday each time the turn came, but it was a good night.
FloraG.

John and I have been asked to host a folk singaround at the White Horse PH, Sandway ME17 2HY (just outside Lenham) starting 8 30 pm Thursday 28th April , and hope as many of you can come as possible. The plan is to have it as a singaround rather than a tunes session - there's already a good session last Sunday of each month in the Red Lion in Lenham - although accordion, fiddle, pipes, recorder players who can play along are of course all welcome too. Gavin and Jenny have transformed the pub into a place with lovely atmosphere, and are very folk friendly, indeed, the Seven Champs Molly side will be rehearsing in the pub's function room at the same time, and will join us after 10. Come along and discover somewhere new . Loads of free parking (or 10 minute walk from Lenham station) and Whitstable brewery real ales.
