BE NOT TOO HARD was co-written w/ poet Christopher Logue. Another version was recorded by Manfred Mann's Earth Band in 1974 on their album THE GOOD EARTH

Hmmm. Well, I found it on YouTube with the movie titles and no talking, but it's a bit clipped at the beginning and end.

I heard several years ago there was another recording of Donovan singing this song on probably a bootleg tape but at the time, I did not really pay much intention to the source. Hope you can find out or perhaps another MudCatter can help out with an answer. It is a very good song and it would be nice to know. It's too bad that the song in the movie has talking during Donovan's singing.

Donovan sang, "Be Not Too Hard" in the 1960's movie, "Poor Cow."
Does anyone know if there was any non-movie version by Donovan singing this song?

During the soundtrack in the movie, the actors start their conversation while Donovan is singing. I have most of Donovan's albums, box sets, DVD but this song is not on any of them. So just wondering if there could be some release (maybe on bootleg or unoffficial release) of the song, "Be Not Too Hard?" (Other then the one in the movie.)

I do have the Joan Baez version of this song and only looking for Donovan singing it.
