Subject: RE: Beverley folk fest From: ossonflags Date: 24 Jun 13 - 04:49 AM Just got back from a great weekend at the Beverley, a tad damp but overall good times. The new venue seemed to work very well..a few gliches but give e'm a chance, it is the first one. It was good to see the management team out and about taking suggestions and complaints Our sessions at the Minster bar was pretty well attended, considering The Minster Bar was a bit far out. Our "Flowers on the water" was exceptionally well attended and recieved. Friday night a bit quiet but some of our lads from the Hillbilly troupe and others turned up so wasn't to bad Saturday night was very good session by the Whisky dogs and a guest appearance Mike Harding!! Great last night singaround with a lot of old mates from Hull, Beverley, Scotland and Durham who came to support us....and buy CDS!!! Would have been nice to see a few more of the old faces, I couldnt get to the Beverley town as we were that busy with our stuff and I did a gig in Paragon Station with The hill billy Troupe. Sunday afternoon. I was very glad to hear the Fringe was very successful and well attended, well done Dereck Waudby!!you did some hard and positive work in organising that I know. Again massive thanks you to you all who supported me and Brian over the weekend in KEEPING MUSIC LIVE!! |
Subject: RE: Beverley folk fest From: GUEST Date: 24 Jun 13 - 04:57 AM It was a good'un but signposting and maps were lacking especially to building venues. But a hats off to all the organisers and volunteers! |
Subject: RE: Beverley folk fest From: ossonflags Date: 24 Jun 13 - 07:22 AM Signposting was a big problem I know Guest. In fairness when we complained some signs became available very quickly. As I said, early days yet. Every one I talked to said the racecourse was a positive move by the organisers and there was a more "festival feel" to the place than the old leisure centre. |
