Subject: Celtic Folk Roots From: JedMarum Date: 08 May 11 - 12:42 PM Here's a new album called Best of Jed Marum - Celtic Folk Roots. It is a compilation of favorite recordings over the last 10 years (Scottish and Irish folk). The tracks come from: SOUL OF A WANDERER (2002), MILES FROM HOME(2004), and SANDS OF ABERDEEN (2008) and will be released to new broadcast media and web-based distribution engines. If you follow the link above, you can scroll to the bottom of the track list and click "preview all songs" to get a three minute sample of the entire album. |

Subject: RE: Celtic Folk Roots From: JedMarum Date: 08 May 11 - 09:29 PM Thanks - lead fingers and beer! Ranger - I believe you have all these recordings on the original albums. I have a new album or two in the short term projects queue, but this one is a compilation of previously released tracks. Trying to sort out time and funding right now, but the music is ready. |

Subject: RE: Celtic Folk Roots From: Chris Partington Date: 12 May 11 - 02:37 PM "Not a bad fist" is slang for having a good hand at cards and playing it well. It's a compliment of course. |

Subject: RE: Celtic Folk Roots From: JedMarum Date: 02 Jun 11 - 09:46 AM The Youtube promo video linked above starts out with an instrumental from one of the album's tracks. It plays over the opening credits, before the video goes into a track-by-track sampling of the album. The whistle solo for this instrumental was played by my friend Betty Blakley Waddoups and was recorded by Paul Mills. Betty was playing a High E whistle that was very slightly sharp ... so I retuned my guitar to her for the recording. It is one of my very favorite pieces, among all of my recordings. |
