Subject: Songs for Doomsday (May 21, 2011) From: Cool Beans Date: 17 May 11 - 04:44 PM Some crackpot is claiming that the world will end on May 21 and his crazy assertion has gained some traction. It so happens I have a gig that night. I'm thinking about singing "Till the End of the World Rolls 'Round," an old Flatt and Scruggs number, but I'm open to suggestions. |

Subject: RE: Songs for Doomsday (May 21, 2011) From: GUEST,999 Date: 17 May 11 - 04:59 PM The End Of The World Why does the sun go on shining? Why does the sea rush to shore? Don't they know it's the end of the world, 'Cause you don't love me anymore? Why do the birds go on singing? Why do the starts glow above? Don't they know it's the end of the world, It ended when I lost your love I wake up in the morning and I wonder, Why ev'rything is the same as it was I can't understand, no, I can't understand, How life goes on the way it does! Why does my heart go on beating? Why do these eyes of mine crying? Don't they know it's the end of the world? It ended when you said goodbye Don't they know It's the end of the world? It ended when you said goodbye |

Subject: RE: Songs for Doomsday (May 21, 2011) From: GUEST,CupOfTea in a hurry Date: 18 May 11 - 06:41 PM Artisan's Brian Bedford has a smashing song "This is the Way the World Ends" - more about global climate change than apocalyptic events, though. I believe it's on Artisan's "Breathing Space" album This is the way the world ends Not with a bang but a bonfire After tea we'll murder a tree Then take a dip in a warmer sea ... As brilliant as all Brian Bedford's songs. Joanne in Cleveland |
