Subject: RE: Lyr Add: Kitty of Coleraine From: Jerry Friedman Date: 20 Sep 99 - 12:21 PM I'm sure you did, Alison, because I remember mentioning that it reminded me of Kipling's Stalky & Co. Good thing I'm not mentioning it again--that would be repetitive. |
Subject: RE: Lyr Add: Kitty of Coleraine From: Alice Date: 20 Sep 99 - 04:32 PM Thanks, alison. I searched both the forum and the DT before adding this thread, and nothing came up for Kitty of Coleraine. Thanks for submitting it again under this heading. |
Subject: RE: Lyr Add: Kitty of Coleraine From: Bruce O. Date: 21 Sep 99 - 01:47 AM In a copy in a songbook of 1828 it's 'I' rather than 'he' in the 2nd verse. Thomas Moore used the tune for "Ill Omens" in the 3rd issue of 'A Selection of Irish Melodies' (1810) giving also an alternatve (and older) tune 'Paddy's Resource". |
