From: GUEST,Swaleman

I have been trying to learn the beautiful song 'Pull you through' by Glasgow's singer songwriter John Taylor but with his strong accent I am finding it difficult to decipher some of the lyrics with any degree of accuracy. I would be very grateful is someone out there could post the correct lyrics.

Have managed the first verse which I think goes as follows:

Just reach out my friend and I will pull you through
To the other end I will be waiting there for you
You are not alone, you are not alone
If there's anything that I can do.

Any help with the rest would be much appreciated.

There are several videos of this on YouTube, but none of them are particularly clear. There is also a recording on Taylor's MySpace page. Here's my transcription, for what it's worth:

PULL YOU THROUGH
As sung by John Taylor

Just reach out your hand [and] I will pull you through,
[And] at the other end I'll be waiting there for you.
You are not alone; you are not alone.
If there's anything that I can do.*

When there's nothing left but tears and emptiness
And the way you feel has never been so cold
You will find a way to fight another day
And though you know the weather will be fine
For you

Just reach out ...

When things settle down, you get back on your feet
You know that only the strong survive
You will face the day in that same old way
Don't you know the weather will be fine
For you

Just reach out ...

- - -
* I'm very uncertain about this line. It sounds like "Ever' day a thin' that I can do"—which doesn't make much sense.

This is based on the lyrics above, and I corrected it to what I'm hearing in the chorus.

I think this sounds pretty good although its very basic;

CAPO 5th

Just reach [Cadd9]out your hand and I will [G]pull you through
at the [Am]other end I'd be waiting here for [See note]you
You are [Cadd9]not alone; you are [G]not alone.
If there's [Am]anything that I can [See note]do.¨

Note; Do not know what this chord is called but basicly it's like a C;
E A D g b e
[0-3-3-2-1-0]

Basicly this is how it goes trough out the whole song.
Feel free 2 inprove! Cheers mates!

/Much love sweden

The chords seem relatively straight forward at first glance, as mentioned in a previous post (capo on 5: C, G, Am, F - all open)

The only difference is the end of each of the "verses" where he slips into a C, G, Em, Am (when singing the bit about the weather) then a couple bars of the open F before heading back into the "choruses".

Most of the words are correct, the ones people cant make out are

"Dont you know the weather will be for you" into chorus
and "If there's anything that i can do"

Hope this helps,
John Taylor

Folks, ya gotta read the thread. The song author has posted twice to this thread and also been kind enough to leave his email address.

Good song, John. Many thanks.
