Have had a look at your link and this festival looks really excellent - lots of acts that I particularly like (Alistair Anderson, Karen Tweed for example) and a lot of really good workshops.

It does say that it's in the centre of Sunderland so I guess that might mean no camping, is that the case?

It's taking place at the National Glass Centre on the north side of the river Wear and at venues in the adjacent St Peter's Campus of the University of Sunderland. I doubt there will be camping, but I have heard that college halls are being negotiated, which should give an inexpensive accommodation option. When I find out more I will post to this thread. Meanwhile bookmark the following link, which contains little information now but should have full details soon. I got early notification through the excellent Phoenix Folk who will be running the music side of things.

By the way, Ray, its the seagulls you have to look out for. They're the size of turkeys.

The festival guest list is actually being organised by Terri Freeman from the Davy Lamp Folk Club. Phoenix are organising the workshops on the Saturday.

Thanks, Colirv. Sorry, it's Davy Lamp for the acts and Phoenix for the workshops, as you say. I gather than University accommodation will be availabel for about £30 a night, but the web site doesn't yet list that.

It all looks great, doesn't it? Unfortunately I'll be in the Pyrenees when it's on! Next year I'll have to time my holidays better.
