Maya Angelou (cd still in print), Sir Lancelot, Lord Invader and Lord Fly are among those who sang this under the title Donkey City.

Uncertain whether these originated in Trinidad, Jamaica, or elsewhere in the Caribbean area.

Note: the melody is very similar to "Yankee Dollar", the 1946 calypso popularised by Lord Invader. The musical phrases used for the lines "For you're nothing but a donkey, just a silly old donkey" and "And she told me plainly, she love Yankee money" are very similar.

Maybe Lord Invader got the melody for "Yankee Dollar in Trinidad" from "Donkey City"?
