The venue is the Ivy Bush on Brecon Road and the music starts at 8.30pm. Stompin Dave must be one of the hardest working musicians in the folk world. He plays banjo, fiddle, guitar and stompbox and is immersed in the music of 'weird America'. All are welcome to come along and enjoy the music making! Ifor |

Subject: RE: Stompin' Dave Allen Plays Pontardawe! From: gnu Date: 03 Jun 11 - 02:48 PM Hmmm... maybe a bit of an explantion... Stompin Tom carries a piece of plywood with him and stomps it with the heel of one a them there cowboy boots with a force that "shocks" the beat of the tune. Not evidenced in that clip but that was the gist of "Stompin" Tom. |

Subject: RE: Stompin'Dave Allen in Pontardawe From: Herga Kitty Date: 14 Jun 11 - 05:06 PM Ifor - it might be worth clarifying that SDA doesn't play fiddle, guitar, harmonica, banjo and stompbox all simultaneously...? But I saw him for the first time recently at Bournemouth folk club and was impressed! Have a great evening (I have to send apologies because I'll be at the Alcester festival)! Kitty |
