This weekend I heard Danny Kalb breathe new life into the old ballad
Water is Wide. He did the most beautiful and haunting version of this old chestnut I ever heard.

I imagine there's a lot of versions of this song, but I'd like to know if there's verses beyond those in..ah...in...bear with me now... Rise Up Singing (jeez I hate to even mention that esteemed tome b/c people start hurling fruit when I do..and it's summer..hey cantaloupes hurt!)

It seems to be basically be an unrequited love song, but I wonder if there's other verses.
