I met Fay at Cullerlie Singing Festival, Aberdeenshire, last weekend, 22-24th July, 2011. She has a beautiful voice, and two lovely children too. Congratulations on her Doctorate. She made a lot of new fans up here.

Congrats to Ms Fay Hield. Jon Boden (her partner not husband) is only an MA (so far).

Yes I believe there was much merrymaking at the Royal in Dungworth after the graduation ceremony!
Having musicians of Fay's calibre ( as a performer and an academic) really makes Sheffield a great place to be for traditional music.

I'm just kicking myself that I've only just learned of Dr Fay's October singing event through Emma's blog. That's the one event I would have given a spare gonad to attend this year, and it's already sold out.
If anyone has a ticket and finds themselves suddenly unavailable, please PM me!

Just glanced through and saw that the Raise The Roof session is mentioned a fair bit (which is my main session). Teehee, I feel kind of important now.
