The Straw was gathered in yesterday evening, I would like to say John Barley Corn but we will have to do with wheat. We start building soon for the festival which takes place on 13 to 15 January 2012. Remember you can only see a straw Bear on Saturday. Our web site is being updated as we get confirmation from the booked guests and the dance team invites have been sent out. Great - that won't clash with the Sussex All-Day Singaround at The Royal Oak, Barcombe, which is on 21st. January 2012. There was a clash in 2011 but next year people will be able to enjoy both.

Apparently,the phenomenon of the "Ever Shrinking Year" is well recognised amongst retired people!! LOL!!

Thanks for spotting the typo. If we don't get the straw now we won't have any for January. You just have to organise your life around these Calendar customs. What do you think it's been like for the past 30 or so years. We are off to Saltburn to day, Moira in a week and a bit, miss Whitby this year but still going to Bromyard as always. Oh the joys of retirement, and I painted three window frames this week. Gan canny Brian

The ticket sales for next January are well under way. Thought I would post a reminder as the weather has turned. Next years bear is built, just a bit of tarting up to do, accomodation for our German friends sorted. Our trip to Walldurn organised.
