Subject: Whittlesea Sraw Bear 2012 From: Wheatman Date: 10 Aug 11 - 02:30 PM The Straw was gathered in yesterday evening, I would like to say John Barley Corn but we will have to do with wheat. We start building soon for the festival which takes place on 13 to 15 January 2012. Remember you can only see a straw Bear on Saturday. Our web site is being updated as we get confirmation from the booked guests and the dance team invites have been sent out. Let's hope we have another great day like we had this January. Some great stuff on Pete Shaw's Folk Peterborough and South Lincs Folk Diary Gan canny Brian |

Subject: RE: Whittlesea Sraw Bear 2012 From: Wheatman Date: 11 Aug 11 - 04:04 AM Thanks for spotting the typo. If we don't get the straw now we won't have any for January. You just have to organise your life around these Calendar customs. What do you think it's been like for the past 30 or so years. We are off to Saltburn to day, Moira in a week and a bit, miss Whitby this year but still going to Bromyard as always. Oh the joys of retirement, and I painted three window frames this week. Ho Hum better start clearing the runner bean plants from the garden. gan canny Brian |
