Subject: John Taylor: Dulcimer player, Omagh?
From: Ptarmigan

Does anyone here remember an Omagh Hammered Dulcimer player by the name of John Taylor?

I was playing my Hammered Dulcimer at Dunluce Castle today & met a man from Omagh, who instantly knew what my instrument was the minute he heard it, which is certainly unusual for this part of the World.

Anyway, he vividly remembered seeing John Taylor play his Hammered Dulcimer regularly at local concerts & events and hearing him often playing on the radio.

He thinks it may have been as long ago as the 1960s or 70s.

If anyone here has any information on John Taylor, I'd be very interested to learn more about him, or indeed, any other Irish Hammered Dulcimer player that anyone here knows of, or remembers?

Cheers,
Dick
