Been one or two people of late wondering where Sharon Fountain of Barnsley got to?

Anyone any idea? Last at Birdwell and then working in Lincoln (a language teacher) and sought after singer!

Haven't seen Sharon for at least a year, Ray. She was in the Lincoln area then. She's a brilliant singer, time she started doing the rounds again (are you listening Sharon............??).

It's info based on living in Barnsley. Did she move to Lincoln ?

She's listed in the Yorkshire Folk Arts Directory....

.... but how up to date is her entry? An email address for her is there.

She also has a Myspace page, but hasn't logged on to it since April 2010.

I'm here - still in Birdwell near Barnsley - working out to retirement in North East Lincs - v v busy with day job so not much singing /writing going on at the moment.
Hoping to retire in the next 12-18 months so hopefully will be able to touch base with people then.

Sharon, I was just wondering the same thing....though my post is a little late. Your CD plays endlessly on my ipod, long after i bought it at festival at the edge. I only have 'songs almost sung' would love to by more. I think you are an incredible singer. Just wonderful to listen to, full of heart and soul and guts x

Not long to my full time retirement now - went partial this year - but also became a grandma 2 months ago and am loving every minute of it - hoping to get out and about a bit more from summer 2013 onwards when I'm not in demand for my nana services!! love to all x

Judy and myself always enjoyed your company whenever in the past and now that you are taking very early retirement hopefully we will see you around.

Or at least that is the theory - in reality there is nothing worse than retiring (apart from the alternative) - you never get a day off and there are no Monday mornings to look forward to.

Seriously though we do hope to see you once more about the scene.

Hi Sharon (and all her fans)! I am late replying to this thread, in fact this is my first ever mudcat post. Two of your albums that I know of were recorded at my brother's studio, Tom Chester, Blank Tape Studios in Sheffield. It was Tom who introduced me to your music. I still play it. In fact I was thinking of learning 'the Journey Onward' for my local unaccompanied folk group. best wishes!
