It missed the listings in the latest issue of Stirrings mag, so here's a bit of a plug now for my forthcoming appearance as "special guest" of Roy Blackman's famous "Poems, Pints & Polyphony" club.

It's on TUESDAY 18th OCTOBER 2011... and billed as AN EVENING WITH DAVID KIDMAN.

I'll be doing two full sets, which will contain plenty of fine songs (with and without choruses), with some poems and perhaps a monologue or two. There may well be a linking theme or three!

The evening will start at 8 pm.

The venue is : The CROSS KEYS, at 400 HANDSWORTH ROAD, HANDSWORTH, SHEFFIELD, SOUTH YORKSHIRE S13 9BZ.

A lovely cosy venue, and a great little club with the most congenial host in Roy B !

It's really easy to get to (only three miles or so from j33 of the M1)...
More info from the Acoustic Rotherham website and also at www.davidkidman.co.uk

It promises to be an interesting night, and it would be great to see some friendly Catters there to swell those choruses!

Cheers,
D

Bah, I'd love to come but I've got a meeting at the union at 8. :-(

Remember me to Roy. We were on a canal boat last century, singing folk songs at each port where the lasses etc. A great time. John

Sure thing, I will gladly pass on your best regards John.
Roy's a real star, and his first-ever CD should be available in time for xmas!

Hope the weather stays kind so the gig gets a chance of a good turnout.
Refresh once again...

Well it's now the morning after - and I can report a thoroughly enjoyable gig despite some fickle weather earlier on in the evening. Special thanks to the fellow-singers who attended in support, who managed to swell the ranks of assembled poets (who probably didn't know what had hit them, but managed to stay to the end!). And of course to Roy B (mine host), for his unbridled enthusiasm and marvellous welcome.
Here's to the next one!
