Subject: RE: chords for fishermens blues From: Bounty Hound Date: 10 Oct 11 - 06:01 AM Here you are Dick, enjoy your few days away. John Fishermans Blues Intro: G F Am C G F I wish I was a fisherman, tumbling on the seas Am C Far away from dry land, and it's bitter memories G F Casting you my sweet light with abandonment and love Am C No ceiling staring down on me, save the starry sky above Chorus: G F Em With light in my hair, you in my arms, woo woo woo G F I wish I was the brake man, on a Hartland diesel train Am C Crashing headlong into the heartland, like a cannon in the rain G F With the beating of the sleepers, and the burning of the coal Am C Counting towns flashing by me, in a night that's full of soul G F Oh I know I will be loosened, from bonds that hold me fast Am C And the chains all hung around me will fall away at last G F And on that fine and fateful day I will take thee in my arms Am C I will ride the night train, and I will be the fisherman |
Subject: RE: chords for fishermens blues From: Lox Date: 10 Oct 11 - 06:38 AM Sorry Bounty Hound, but the chords above are not correct. The Chorus has no E minor. It has exactly the same chords as the verses. You may play it with an E minor if you choose, and long may you continue to play music your way, but the inclusion of the E minor is, I am afraid, only your personal interpretation of the song. |
Subject: RE: chords for fishermens blues From: Lox Date: 10 Oct 11 - 06:43 AM correction - they are exactly the same except that the last 4 beats of the bar are chopped off. So the C is chopped off So the chorus is G, F, Am fishermans blues |
Subject: RE: chords for fishermens blues From: Bounty Hound Date: 10 Oct 11 - 06:58 AM Well spotted Lox, you are absolutely correct, I do in fact play Am, typing error! so the correct chorus is Chorus: G F Am With light in my hair, you in my arms, woo woo woo Then of course it rolls round to the instrumental, which is the same chords as the verse. John |
