Geoff Muldaur will perform at Stone Soup Coffeehouse on Saturday, October 29, 2011. The KC Moaners will be the opening act at 8 PM. I think most folk fans know who Geoff is, but here is some information on the KC Moaners

"In the tradition of the Jug bands of the sixties, Rhode Island's own KC Moaners draw their musical influences from the original jug bands of the 1920s. The KC Moaners, like their predecessors, use various household items including washboard, wash tub and jug along with guitar, fiddle, harmonica, mandolin, kazoo, and pretty much anything else that can be used to make timeless, feel-good music that will put a smile on your face and keep your feet tapping all night long."

Stone Soup Coffeehouse is in the hall of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Pawtucket, RI. It is a few blocks from Rt. 95, Just south of the MA state line and just north of Providence. Directions and ticket information are at http://www.soup.org/ .

Wow, Wesley S., thank you for that link. I have seen the K. C. Moaners and thought they were lots of fun. I knew they were from Ri but didn't know they were from West Warwick, where I now reside!

The concert had to be cancelled. I wanted to put this on Mudcat when I found out about the cancellation at about 4 PM, but I couldn't access Mudcat. Word is Geoff was stuck on Martha's vineyard because of the weather. I didn't think any Mudcatters were coming tonight, so my inability to post sooner probably didn't make a difference, but I did try. I hope wherever people are tonight, they are safe and warm.
