Poster available on website along with guests booked to date. |
Subject: RE: Moira Furnace Folk Festival 2012 From: OlgaJ Date: 29 Nov 11 - 03:57 AM Please see website for up to date list of artists etc. Lots going on including a performance of the Navvy's Wife by John Ryan on Sunday evening and the storytelling might well be on a canal boat rather than a walk. I am now a bit remote from the organisers but I have been asked to keep you informed of progress from time to time so I am sure you will hear from me soon.Moira Furnace Folk Festival |

Subject: RE: Moira Furnace Folk Festival 2012 From: Don(Wyziwyg)T Date: 04 Jan 12 - 01:27 PM Must be four or five years since we came up to Donisthorpe and did the rounds of some of the Lincolnshire clubs. We're planning to come to the festival this year, looking forward to renewing some old acquaintances (Hi Lynne), and we'd like to make it a week long visit. Could some kind person let me know what Folk Clubs (if any) will be operating through the second and third weeks of August, within about a twenty mile radius of Moira? Don T. |
Subject: RE: Moira Furnace Folk Festival 2012 From: Acorn4 Date: 04 Jan 12 - 01:52 PM Don, Log yourself onto this before you come:- Leicester Folk Diary pm me nearer the time and I'll try to direct you to some clubs which you'll probably like. |
Subject: RE: Moira Furnace Folk Festival 2012 From: OlgaJ Date: 05 Jan 12 - 09:59 AM Backwoodsman - think you are thinking of a different Strumming Steve. Steve has got some youtube footage from last year's festival. just put in Steve Jackson at Moira Furnace and it should bring up quite a few clips. Aa far as I am aware he hasn't played in the Lincoln Area. He's now located in Leeds. |
Subject: RE: Moira Furnace Folk Festival 2012 From: autoharpbob Date: 05 Jan 12 - 05:03 PM There are definitely two Steve Jacksons - both excellent, but of slightly different ages and styles. |

Subject: RE: Moira Furnace Folk Festival 2012 From: OlgaJ Date: 19 Mar 12 - 07:08 AM As far as I'm aware the Railway will be available for sessions etc. as it was last year, as will the Woodman. I'm a bit remote from the organising committee as I am now living near York but I am in regular touch with them so I will pass on any queries if you want me to. I will nudge the stewarding organiser but I wouldn't worry too much if you haven't been contacted yet. |
Subject: RE: Moira Furnace Folk Festival 2012 From: Herga Kitty Date: 19 Mar 12 - 07:24 AM What a shame that this clashes with the White Horse festival at Grove...! Kitty |
Subject: RE: Moira Furnace Folk Festival 2012 From: Monologue Man Date: 19 Mar 12 - 02:56 PM Dave Earl and Brenda are both on the list of stewards for the 2012 Moira furnace Folk Festival. The stewarding organiser has had a family bereavement which has, understandably. meant that he has had to give priority to his family. He assures me that he will contact Dave and Brenda in the next few weeks and any other people who have registered an interest in being a steward. There are still opportunities for more stewards so if you are interested please go to the website www.moirafurnacefolkfestival.co.uk and complete the steward application form. |
