Subject: An update and a Thank You From: Bruce MacNeill Date: 07 Nov 11 - 08:22 AM I joined Mudcat just about 3 years ago when, in retirement, I decided to try to play again after a 40 year absence for career and family. My plan was to play at nursing homes or some such. I got some encouragement and direction from several folks here, most notably Will Fly but others as well and I just wanted to tell you how it turned out and say thanks. I now play regularly at the local hospital and a nursing home and a local open mic. The restaurant that hosts the open mic actually hired me for a paid gig last Saturday night, which was a success. I'll still mostly be playing for free as I had planned. Thanks for your support. It's been an interesting 3 years. |

Subject: RE: An update and a Thank You From: Will Fly Date: 07 Nov 11 - 09:32 AM Bruce - it's no wonder you made it. Your friends on the Porch saw the trouble you took, the hours you practised, the advice you sifted through, the perfectionism, the thoroughness with which you approached it. And it's starting to pay off. Couldn't happen to a nice bloke! |
