HI out there! Some weeks ago I heard a musician in an Irish pub. He played a song, from which he told that it´s an traditional scottish song.It was called "If you don´t get fucked by saturday night, you´ll never get fucked at all". The song was funny and now I am searching for the lyrics or for a recording of the song(or both???). Can anybody help me?

We used to sing that.
A couple of versions are in the DT - KERIMUIR & KERIMUR2.
Bert.

Hahaha! I remember that one from my student days. The lads in the Student Union Bar would roar it out.
I seem to remember it started with "Four and twenty virgins came down from Inverness, and when the ball was over there were four and twenty less..."
My old father knew this too, and sang it in the Air Force during the War.

You might do better looking for "The Ball of Kirriemuir".

Yes Jack, that's what I knew it as.

I recall Nell the vicar's daughter, who amused the assembled company with some unusual acrobatics involving a chandelier and her bust.
Also, an undertaker wrapped in a shroud, who weed on everyone while passing over their heads.
Not to mention a rather odd magician who performed a strange trick with a capacious part of his anatomy, up which he vanished.

I used to sit in the students' bar open-mouthed as various rugby songs were belted out (I was as innocent as a babe in arms). Makes me smile now to remember...!

I may be wrong but that sounds like some of the lyrics to "The North Atlantic Squadron",a very bawdy song whose verse is :Away away wuth rum,by gum! Here we come full of rum
Looking for women who peddle their bum In the North Atlantic Squadron! The rest of the lyrics are truly vulgar and obscene so I hesitate to post them here.

A correction! Those words are also of a very bawdy song. Here is one verse of it:       The village idiot he was there sitting on a mat amusing himself by abusing himself and catching it in his hat...The title I do not know.

Tom, I'm wondering if the "village idiot" song you're thinking about is The Ball of Baladore (or, If You Can't Get Laid in the SCA). The phrase is also in the Digital Tradition in GATHERING OF THE CLANS (continued) and THE BALL OF KERRIEMUIR (BALLYNORE). The North Atlantic Squadron is also in the Digital Tradition, but I'd agree it's not connected to the "Kirriemuir" songs.
