Beautiful day here in Staffordshire as well, Nigel. I'm also in the queue - lemon juice and LOTS of sugar for me please, VT. Gotta keep sweet somehow...

Still haulin'.

Am standing in the pancake line as I type (not easy when you're as cakhanded as I am!). Some lemon juice, but no sugar please. VT, it's heartwarming to read such an upbeat, energised post. Please keep back some of your energy, just for yourself, something personal & totally self-indulgent!
Wendy, have sent a PM re. meeting.
Sending everyone sunshine & warmth from London. It's beautiful outside today.

Lifting the Crew of Good Ship Rainbow up on this sunshiny Sunday morning. I am feeling much better. Only the little niggling cough I had prior to the flu strike. Yesterday, I did much housework and today will resume while the energy lasts. Right foot only got a little swollen yesterday, probably because I was moving around most of the day. But feet hurt like crazy last night and kept me awake. Don't care. Feeling good about getting flat sorted out, clean and tidy before the winter blahs set in.

I made pancakes this morning. Anybody want some?

"Just having a silly moment" No you're not, Wendy; you're having a moment that would make any normal person very sad. I bet a bunch of us would wish to be able to give you something better than "virtual hugs". Hope the getaway trip works out for you, and good to hear that your main squeeze is doing better. Don't know anything about those islands, but I do have a weakness for going to islands.

its ten to one in the morning and I have a large brandy,

when mum went to bed tonight she could not remember where her bedroom was , and put her false teeth in her glasses case, heartbreaking!!

Wish I could sometimes just have my " old mum" back just so she knows how much I love her. Sometimes when her carer goes home she clings to her and asks " when will I see you again" as if the carer is the most important person in her life!

Just having a silly moment, will be better in the morning, I know that others have much more troubling times ( Spaw and Charlie etc etc )

Just thanking the gods and stars for the Rainbow crew, I know you share tears and smiles together.( Nigel, wonderful news , waiting to hear the new music, and so wanting to meet you and Ann at the beach hut even in the east coast autumn winds)

Better go to bed.

fondest love and loving thoughts

Wendy

xxxxxx

ps Billy is much better after 4 weeks of a rotten virus, if I can get a new passport we are hoping to plan a week away and have been recommended Cape Verde islands ????

Years ago, sunny Sunday morning on a caravan site in the South of France. Went to the camp shop and bought some bacon. As it was sizzling away in the frying pan, caravan door and windows wide open, the aroma starts drifting around the site. Pretty soon there was a trail of people heading for the shop...

Yum, yum!

Up Spaw, up y'all.

SpawPatSpawPatSpawPatSpawPatSpawPat....Gnu said it for me: "... I feel better than I have in over a year.
That just made my day! >:-D"

May you feel the same (or better!) tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, the day after that, the day after........you know what I mean.
Welcome, Amergin. Any friend of Pat's is a friend of mine. Come & visit again soon.
Wendy, the thought of bacon & eggs & some fresh coffee is tantalising in the extreme. I'm sure if I open the front door, I should be able to savour the aroma, if the winds are favourable!
After weeks of inactivity, I've finally started work on a new piece this morning. Just eight bars of an intro., but it's a start.
                                                Love & Hugs to All,

Glad things are going good, Pat old friend....

I have been on a downswing lately...nothing major just coping with my own mind....it's amazing how things can go so amazingly well on some fronts...like on the literary and art front for me....but crappy in others....like in the personal front...but then I view this thread and realise that many others have things alot shittier than I...it's hard to remember that when you're feeling sorry for yourself.

My best wishes for you all.

I'm headed out early tomorrow afternoon to the Getaway up in Maryland, then over to the Eastern Shore to visit my sis, then to WV to visit Mom so won't be on-line much for the next 10-14 days. Heart and mind always present, however.

Y'all take good care of yourselves, ya' hear!

I could not agree more Nigel.....Down the road he'll need us far more and I hope he will come over here and join the crew.

Side note...Except for some pain in the ass mouth sores related to the chemo, I feel better than I have in over a year. My current treatments cost about $13,000. per month but the support this place gives me is priceless.

Thank you all!

Still no hot water or CH, but that pales into insignificance when I think about Charlie & Ann.
Janie, the coffee was just fine. Can't take it too strong.
Spaw, you said you felt "dammed good today". How I rejoice to read those words.

A chorus for the crew: "In this windy old weather, stormy old weather, when the wind blows we'll all pull together". I forget the song from which this comes, but I'm sure one of you will remember.

Yay for Tommy and the Spaw

For all your good wishes I am in awe

Was on the mend or so I thunk

Until under fever again I sunk.

I was actually well enough to sleep in my own bed Thursday and Friday night without too much coughing. Was trying to give TheSilentOne some peace as he had work. This evening, I have fever again and sweats. Streaming nose is back and wracking cough. My rib cage hurts so much.

Not one to be ignored, my right foot is big as ever.

As am I. I like maeve and Janie "haulin" line a lot. I check this thread a lot but lately haven't been posting much. My thoughts are with all and especially now as we all seem to be having some issues. Now is the time for that support we all give freely and need so much. I never think because someone hasn't posted lately they are not reading and caring. I know you are and I hope you know I do as well. This thread is the only reason I come here anymore.......

I'm okay but the past few weeks have been a bit rough. The last chemo session hit me harder and took longer to get past although the previous one was a breeze.....go figure.   Doing well now so again....go figure. The one thing I am sure about is this beats the hell out of how I was last April!

Okay Gang....I'll be checking back of course and posting more at least til the next chemo in Mid-October. I love you all!
