9... I'm Puffs man, myself. Puffs Plus Lotion, actually. they come on sale at Costco quite often. Higher quality tissue. And, they are not interlaced, which I prefer. When I reach for a Kleenex in the dark and get a half of one and have to fumble with the box, all the while becoming more awake and more pissed off... just try Puffs.

i used to get some of that treatment nigel around the same years.i was fortunate though in that i joined a boxing club.the bullies did'nt know what to do with a straight left!
mind you it did'nt help much at sea cadets when a boy from the "approved school" challenged me and kicked my face in.no gentlemanly fisticuffs there!
i bowed out of that organization after that.

Yes, there was a 'rogue post' at 2:58, but the mods dealt with it very quickly. I've written to Joe & the Gang to thank them. This Thread has become something akin to the internet equivalent of Hallowed Ground as far as Ann & I are concerned. Could be one of the most significant days, Monday 5th March. Jane had two scans last week & the results are due today.

Positive news...the Doctors have curtailed the spread of the cancer & the existing tumours are no larger...they've managed to press the clinical 'pause button'. (The operative word here is 'pause'.) In practical terms it gives The Family an opportunity to 'regroup' emotionally & consider what plans could be realistically made for the immediate future. The 'Big Picture' remains, but at least a significant part of that picture, has, for the time being, been modified in Jane's favour.

I'm sure you know this but let me say it anyway. There are many of us here doing as I am.....following this thread every day and thinking of you and your family. I/We don't post all the time but sometimes I/we just don't know what to say. In whatever way we all do it, we are all behind you and I sincerely hope you can feel that.

Also I still think an extra "T" in your name would enhance things but I think you're doing pretty well without it. Now if you need one I know that both Micca and myself would be happy to share!

My Dear Spaw, I know without a shadow of a doubt that You're all out there. And I know too that finding the 'right words' can be terribly difficult. It's not necessary to check in every day...I can visualise you all in an instant & you become this huge human 'shawl' which Jane & Ann & myself can wrap tightly around our shoulders.
       Now, about an extra 'T' in my surname...over the years, I've become very attached to my single 'T' spelling. Doubling the 'T' is something I just could not do, regardless of any perceived benefits!! I'm grateful for the offer of an additional one, but adopt it I can't. If, however, you made me a 'T', I would happily display it with my other 'treasures'!

I don't see any problem with having just one t in your name. I named my son Forest with one r. I wanted to name him after something in nature and I would have named a girl that, too, if that's what I'd had.

I like the idea of trying to think of some appropriate songs. For now I'm drawing a blank. But I'm still praying!

To ChanteyLass, I think Forest is a beautiful name for a son or daughter. For me it has overtones of strength & dignity. I'm reminded of an actor named For(r)est Tucker from way back, but can't remember if he was 'r' or 'rr'!

And to all of You who check in every day, but don't necessarily post every day, Ann & I know you're there...it's similar to taking a walk in the country with a close friend & enjoying the countryside for what it is...what words there are become almost superfluous & unnecessary. It's the 'being there in the moment' that becomes important. Your words, thoughts & intercessions are key to the Love & Support You give us, but simply 'being with us in the moment' is important too.

Nigel - I remember seeing Gerry Marsden at the Lowlands in West Derby Village (Liverpool) long before he was famous. (That dates me a bit) I also saw a group called the Huyton Quarry Men at the Cavern ( I think it was there)around the same time.( You know who they became?)
Check the words of I watch The Sunrise - there is a thread on this the words always provoke a lot of thought and we have played it on all sorts of occasions - happy and sad.

Pete, we are obviously of a similar age, and that comes with a bonus attached...we've both lived through the era of some of the greatest 'popular music' (used in the broadest sense possible) ever written. As for the 'Quarry Men', yes I & hopefully most of the Western World at least, know what became of them! I found the words to 'I Watch the Sunrise' very moving & appropiate. I hope this is the hymn to which you were referring:

As we're exploring a fantasy, along with the unlimited budget, musicians, bands, chefs, cooks who have found their place in the Great Concert Hall/Kitchen in the sky can be re-born & resurrected for the occasion.
          Kat, that recording you've linked to is really beautiful. I said a few days ago that I wasn't a "God fearing Man", but I'm certainly not immune to the sentiments & depth of expression that this Hymn conveys. Thanks again to Pete for bringing it to our attention. That final 'O' with it's diaeresis appears to be some sort of typo, unless, of course, it's a special abbreviation. On the recording, the final word is: 'Lord'.
          GUEST 'I Don't Know' asked how long our Fantasy Party would last. I can only think at the moment that it would have to include at least one sunset & one sunrise. This could have a bearing on where in the world we pitch the marquee.
          Having asked all of you to suggest locations, musicians, chefs etc., I'm having a bit of a struggle on my own behalf...more to do with who I leave out, rather than who I include. Paul Simon, Johnny Silvo, Jean Redpath, The BBC Concert Orchestra get my musician's list underway...much more thought required.
