I went to see Nic Jones last night. It was the most emotional concert that I have ever been to - I can still hardly speak. He sang this.

tommy is not as well as yesterday and has been moved to high dependancy tonight.hopefully it is only a blip as we were able to walk him in the ward a little and he puts up a fight everytime the suction come near his mouth!

prayer offered for roy as he awaits news.
wendy-you must get worn out but it must be a blessing that mum is smiling through it all.

The Dr has just been to see mum and says her chest infection is no better but also that mum has had a minor stroke which has affected her speech, we had thought that the speech problem had been caused by the chest infection making the dementia more complicated? Not quite sure which is worse? She is her usual smiling self, she is quite amazing!!

Just having a coffee if anyone would like to share, it is a big coffee pot!

I have just caught up with everyone and send the most healing thoughts to all, (such good news Pete,) so this crew is having a powerful effect. I am really so in awe of the collective love and kindness that the is being focused here, it is indeed a very important place in the mudcat family and is the first place I go to every morning and last thing at night.

At the moment my main concern is my dear mum, and when I am awake with her during the night the Rainbow is where I go to find companionship and support.

THanks for all the tboughts and prayers that have come my way.

My mate Roy is going for tests today to see if his cancer has spread. he currently has asophageal(?) cancer. If it hasn't, he MAY be a candidate for surgery. If it has he's been given 6-9 months. He's one of the friends I said makes me feel lucky to only have Kidney Cancer.

Thoughts and prayers for him would be much appreciaated.
He's told me he will let me know the outcome this afternoon (West Aussie time) and I'll pass on any info as soon as I hear. He's a Great Singer/Songwriter and an alround good bloke.

have just read of and expressed a prayerful hope that richards op had gone well and that any residual cancer will be effectively treated.

pleased to find tommy today not in high dependancy but straight to ward and much better.beckys [and tommys] GP was ,she heard, also very pleased as he had feared a long spell on ventilator for him might have proved fatal.thank God - and some kind friends!.

nigel- i hope that as the rainbow sails on that you will find some "fair havens" on the voyage where you,ann, and jane are able to replenish and take on board whatever is needed when the sea is stormy.

Thanks, people. Richard is through the surgery successfully and is doing as well as can be expected: the docs think they've "got it", but need to do all the tests to be sure.

Janie, I clearly need to apologise to you too for grasping the wrong end of the stick, big time! On reflection though, I think, inadvertently, we have uncovered the potential to do more for the common good. Our thread remains, as is, but it can also serve as a 'hub', a conduit of news & information provided by individuals about their own threads & alerting us to the needs of others, of whose whose plight we may not be aware. ChanteyLass said that she would probably start her own thread if the need arose, but would still post here to let us know. Spaw has let us know about Bugsy. some time ago someone asked me if I thought I should start a thread for Billy amd me, but I thought then, and still do, that I felt safe here with the Rainbow crew,maybe not everyone who knows us on mudcat is sailing with us,but the enveloping love and support means so much to both of us.These friendships are long lasting and we will never lose touch!

Janie, very happy to be included in a collective meditation,and thank you we had a very good day,Billy saw his skin cancer consultant today and he does not want to see him for three months!

I feel stronger and better able to cope,thanks to the crew

i too was very touched by nigels and janies post and then warmed by wendys recounting of a good day.when the way is dark such shafts of

light shed a   little sunshine into our lives.

pleased to report that tommy was safely taken off the ventilator yesterday and appears to be making progress and is expected to move from intensive care to high dependancy tomorrow.thanks to you all again. blessings   pete.

I woke up this morning to bright sunshine, my brother stayed last night to sit with mum so Billy and I had the first good nights sleep since Christmas, also yesterday was a good day. I sent Billy off to spend the afternoon with Samantha and the grandaughters and he returned home with a roast dinner so I didnt have to cook.

While he was out I had a long and fullfilling phone call with our lovely vicar Robert and he is going to visit with mum sometime this week.

The absess on my wisdom tooth that has been a constant pain for a few days has gone overnight! Billy has just made me breakfast in bed!!

So sending very positive and loving thoughts to all the crew,
