I am looking for two old songs. First- Come the Rainbow , and a song called If you marry..... I dont know anything of this lyrics in English just in Icelandic. So if someone can help me , answear this tread. all the skarpi Iceland.

I have to admit I'm intrigued - how did the Irish song get into Icelandic? Neither sounds familiar - any more cluers?

could it be "Gone the rainbow"?.. it could be Peter Paul & Mary's "Here I sit on Buttermilk hill".

If so do a search for any of the "Shule Aroon" threads.

I just tested the links I put on and the only one that seems to work is the digitrad one, sorry.

At any rate, there is a song called a Paper of Pins that seems to match and it is listed as an American folk song (references an Alan Lomax collection).

I think Paper of Pins also occurs in the UK.

Is it a "Bells of Canterbury" variant? Or are my wires more than usually crossed?
