And Groundhog Day too.

Does this make anyone out there feel like a geezer?

In Chicago about '65, there were a bunch of clubs on Wells that were trying to cash in on the folk boom. One was the Fickle Pickle. One afternoon I went there for lunch. It was so packed you couldn't hear the 2 folkies singing. I walked up to the stage and the sign said Smothers Brothers. They were doing Pretoria, but nobody was listening!
That summer someone was shot in that area, and the crowd moved on.
Chris

I don't know whether it would have been the same Fickle Pickle, but I have an LP of Big Joe Williams singing at a club of such a name, and using the occasion perform a song which advertised his residency.

"Come down to the Fickle Pickle.
Hear Big Joe every Tuesday night."
