Don't know that I'm a fan, but I do like NR of the PS well enough. They gotta be ok if they even remember Panama Red.

"OF" the Purple Sage, Bob, not "AND". Yes, I've been a fan since the beginning. Still like to play Glendale Train bluegrass style, and sometimes "Henry" when the mood's right. First album with Garcia on pedal steel is probably my favorite. Saw them at a little Denver club called Sancho's Broken Arrow about 2 years ago, and except for original members Nelson and Cage, I was the oldest one in attendance. John Marmaduke Dawson was a great songwriter and my guitar, Louisiana Lady, is named after one of his tunes.

Yeah, LeeJ, I like their first album best myself. I love the songs you mentioned, and especially the Last Lonely Eagle, one of the best songs ever written IMO. Thanks, BlueJay

They were one of the main reasons I bought a steel guitar.
It is Zane Grey, for sure.
Cheers
Dave
