Attended the wake of my friend and singing buddy Jack McAndrew yesterday evening. He was a wonderful promoter, organizer, and coordinator of Irish music in the Hudson Valley, as well as being a wonderful singer and guitar player himself. I first met him when I dropped in on one of the famed Guinan's "Rising of the Moon" gatherings in Garrison, and told him I had a guitar out of the car. He told me to grab it and come in and take a seat. He was the first to encourage me to sing in public, and he always supported my efforts. He will be much missed.

I met Jack in Lansing, MI at a work function. We both shared a love of music, which resulted in us hanging out at Lansing's Elderly Music Store and trying out all the expensive guitars. What a great fellow. Wish we had more time to make music, but I know you are in good company now. Rest my brother!

Jack was clearly one of those people who helps keep our music alive. I wish I could have met him. I've added his name to the "In Memoriam" thread.

Best wishes,

Peter
