Subject: Does anybody use Mudchat any more?
From: framus
Date: 06 Apr 12 - 06:59 PM

Hi, I've been away for a while, but nobody seems to use Mudchat nowadays.
Considering the scope of the membership, it seems odd. Or have I just gone in at the wrong times?

Tim - Mud CHAT Is part of Mud CAT and was effectively killed by a small group who used to ignore any body who they took a dislike to
which does NOT do a Chat Room any good at all .
I have had a few chats now and then - framus was one of the last ones !

That's putting it mildly, Terry, but, always the gentleman *you* are.

In any case, Mudchat could be as vibrant as it once was. Just needs people to check in and chat.

Of course, remember it's not necessarily a serious music discussion unless you "get a room" and make it so. The general chatroom is (was) a frenetic free-for-all of hearty and humourous banter as well as serious discussions of music. I spent hours there until the nastiness started. That being said, it won't happen again... I shant explain why but Mudchat is just fine now.

Never did get into chatting in live time. It's not easy at my age to do that. I prefer to think about what I'm saying before I post it.

I admire those of you adept at Chat. I can barely carry on a casual 3-D conversation - internet Chat is simply beyond my capabilities. Too deliberate, am I.

Aye, Mudchat was fun, till somebody started a 4 continent campaign of lies and misinformation about a couple of other posters.
Still I guess some folks response to being caught out in the wrong, is to go into the attack, and hope their misdemeanours will be lost among all the smears they make.

For me, it's simply a matter of typing skills (or lack thereof). By the time I respond, the subject has changed.

That's the advantage of the forum threads. They usually stay on one topic (give or take about thirty percent), and give me time to get two fingers (sometimes as many as four) moving at reasonable speed.

Only used Mudchat once - about 1.00am when I had insomnia. Considering we have the whole world at our fingertips, it was some kind of Sod's Law that the only other occupant was Leadfingers who lives just down the road from me!
Enjoyed the chat though!

It means, I am equally guilty.

I was just in Mudchat, it said two people were there but when I entered there was no one. People leave without logging off.

Gave it a whirl. Nothing happened.
Maybe I should have logged in as Walter De La Mare:
I suddenly smote on the door,
Even louder, and lifted my head:â€"
'Tell them I came, and no one answered,
That I kept my word,' I said.
