Subject: RE: Quasimodal Chorus! Maine, USA From: maeve Date: 29 Apr 12 - 03:27 PM Naughty Will! You'll confuse the poor souls who have trouble distinguishing between the kind hearted gentleman of Notre Dame and the musical discussion of modality. We're very exciting performers- note the exclamation point in our name! Seriously- some mighty fine musicians in our chorus; it's an honor to sing with 'em. |

Subject: RE: Quasimodal Chorus! Maine, USA From: maeve Date: 19 Apr 12 - 12:00 PM We'd love to see you, Mary. The concert is on a Thursday though, so that might be a problem. I know, who runs a concert on a Thursday? It's the usual library concert series night. No tickets; pay at the door and the door opens at 6:30. |

Subject: Quasimodal Chorus! Maine, USA From: maeve Date: 19 Apr 12 - 09:03 AM The Quasimodal Chorus will perform at the Camden Public Library in Camden, Maine May 3, 2012 at 7 pm. Here's a link: http://www.camden.lib.me.us/news/14084/quasimodal-chorus-in-concert-may-3/#more-14084 The Quasimodal Chorus! convened in Camden in 1984 to record for Gordon Bok's February Tapes. Jan Harmon invited the group to join her in her set at the 1987 Rockport Folk Festival at the Rockport Opera House, Rockport, Maine. The Quasis have been meeting in member's homes weekly ever since. This year they are reviving a tradition of spring concerts at the Camden Public Library. This year's concert will feature choral compositions by members Gordon Bok, Anne Dodson, Jan Harmon and Bob Richardson and solo, duet, trio, and small ensembles of the group with original as well as traditional pieces. A capella songs as well as songs accompanied by keyboard, flute, percussion, whistles, dulcimer, guitars, banjo and cello will be included. One Mudcat member will sing "Ice Storm" from the 2011 Mudcat Seasonal cd, "Until the Dark Time Ends", available in the USA from Camsco Music http://camscomusic.com/contact.html and in the UK from Mudcat's bradfordian- barriemathers@ntlworld.com |
