Subject: RE: FILO Folk Whitby From: GUEST Date: 06 May 12 - 03:49 AM Soldier Boy take a guess, the club is called the FILO and its in Whitby, you've been there in the past |
Subject: RE: FILO Folk Whitby From: Betsy Date: 06 May 12 - 06:17 AM Good news ,great news in fact especially as the fish shop over the road is great value and as good as any in Whitby . |
Subject: RE: FILO Folk Whitby From: John Routledge Date: 06 May 12 - 09:10 AM Thanks for info on fish shop Betsy - an irresistible combination. |
Subject: RE: FILO Folk Whitby From: Raggytash Date: 06 May 12 - 09:22 AM For those who don't know the FILO is the First In Last Out on York Terrace, in the Fishburn Park Area of Whitby, up behind the hospital. In it's previous format (every Tuesday and first Saturday of each month)it was to my mind the best little session anywhere in Whitby run by two good guys Chris Coulter and Stuart Tonnar who sometimes go under the name "Perish The Thought" |
Subject: RE: FILO Folk Whitby From: Arthur_itus Date: 07 May 12 - 06:16 AM Glad to see that you guys are back wheer you belong. Hope it goes well. |
Subject: RE: FILO Folk Whitby From: Betsy Date: 07 May 12 - 08:21 AM Any one got the post code. It might help one or two people by Googling and save them getting lost by going into the centre of Whitby / getting lost etc. John - glad you like the combination. Tip - if in your car always have an ould Supermarket plastic bag in the boot and you can put it over your lap to stop vinegar etc getting on your clothes. Dear me, does getting older make a person more practical - years ago I wouldn't have even thought abour such things as "plastic bags on laps". |
Subject: RE: FILO Folk Whitby From: gnomad Date: 07 May 12 - 09:00 AM Post code is YO21 1PT. If using Google maps the marked position for the pub is out by about 50 yards; you need to move East, with the (public) entrance being on the end of the block, just under where it says Manchester House. |

Subject: RE: FILO Folk Whitby From: Ann N Date: 10 May 12 - 11:53 AM the little posters in the pub windows are showing it as an 8pm start, is this a 'typo' or should I get there earlier than planned to bag a seat? :) |

Subject: RE: FILO Folk Whitby From: GUEST,Charliestu Date: 13 May 12 - 03:32 PM 'Twas brillig in the FILO, amongst the slivy toves, the music was delicious, now we all know where to go(es)(!) The singing were as good as that what went before, with only only one random jaberwacky complaining. What a bore! The standard it was very high, the room was full an' the beer did fly, 4 hours solid of music - sigh!¬ did issue from the throng. This 'twas the first for many a month and I really have to say, that it is a special place to come and spend a Saturday. Just now the room is small and cosy, just like a family meeting. So come to the FILO, drink a convivial jar and spend a Saturday evening. |
