I have managed to Hide both the menu bar and the URL address box on my Safari browser (clicked something I shouldn't have, I guess) and now I can't find any way to get to the View menu to re-enable them. Nothing in the Properties on the main programme menu does it either: tried everything I could think of and am now stumped. Luckily Mudcat is bookmarked cos I have no way - that I can see - of typing in new addresses. What do I need to click to get these toolbars back? I haven't been able to access the drop-down menu for it, and there's no little gearwheel or anything to click either. This is a PC running W7.

Please please pretty please don't just tell me to download another browser - been there, done that, got several, it's *this* one I want to sort out. Will be grateful for help, thanks!

Nope, did that too - doesn't work. The problem is that I've managed to disable them, so the default settings are changed and I can't access the View menu I need to change them back again.

It's a quiet day with few posting, so poor help may be beter than none.

I've not seen Win7 or Safari, but this sort of thing is usually a toggle. F11 does exactly that in Firefox, so you could try some of The Fkeys - they're unlikely to do harm.

All it toggles is the top screen border - so I managed to make "mudcat.org" disappear for a moment too! But no joy with my absent toolbars...

Try Command-L. And if that doesn't work, use Command-Shift-\ (the key right under the delete key).

IF you can get the View==>Customize Toolbar option, dragging the default set into place will restore it, I think.

Thanks everybody - going to save this page so I can refer back to it the next time my hand disconnects itself from my brain and does something dumb (...it wasn't me, Your Honour, it was my hand...)
