This festival (which apparently started today) is being woefully under-promoted. I looked on the official site where the 'News' section tells me that preparations are under way for the 2011 festival. I read the local rag from cover to cover and could find nothing about it. I found others on the web asking for any news of it. I looked on their Facebook page which is a 'closed group' and carries no information that I could see. I looked on this site and found nothing. I don't know who's appearing (if anyone is); I don't know who is judging or the times of competitions. It's a poor do.

None of that tells you what categories they have competitions for, when they happen, when and where the sessions and concerts are... could do better.

Nothing much changes there from year to year but that's not realy the point. Although the old stalwarts know the score, it doesn't really do much to to encourage first time visitors.

Unfortunately, I'm not likely to make it this year.

Like I said, Ritchie, I looked at the website which has cobwebs on it. I generally enter the ballad competition but, these days, I want to know if I have any respect for the judge(s) so I missed out I'm afraid.

Effsee - yup, saw that site too. Just goes to show it's not just me.
