On the McCalmans website, I found this info:

"Due to illness, Nick Keir is unable to be with Stephen, on gigs, for the foreseeable future. Almost all of the gigs will go ahead as planned with Stephen performing solo. Best wishes to Nick for a speedy recovery and watch this space for news of Nick's return to the stage. SOON, we hope!"

Seconded, of course. Does anyone know how Nick is doing?

Hi Susanne.

I see from Facebook that he's having chemotherapy, and won't be able to go to Tønder festival while that's ongoing. I don't have details about his illness, though.

But he *is* gigging. I got a Facebook invite from him to Sunday, 19 August 2012, 16:30, The Acoustic Music Centre, St Brides 10 Orwell Terrace.

I'll drop you a PM with this information as well, in case you miss the thread.

Funny, I was just thinking about Nick this afternoon and wondering how he was doing. I attended a concert in May, at which he and Stephen Quigg were to appear as a duo. There was no advance notice, only a note on the door saying that due to Nick illness Steve would be performing alone. Steve said Nick had been diagnosed with intestinal cancer. Since then I have heard nothing.

Thanks to all for the concern and good wishes. Yes, I had an operation in May to remove a tumour, but the cancer had spread so I'm on chemotherapy until at least Christmas. This mean that I can't travel far from Edinburgh, and not at all outside the UK. I was able(with a good deal of help) to do the gigs in Edinburgh at the Fringe and I have a new CD ready to release...it was competed before I became ill.

Luckily Stephen is a consummate solo artist and has been able to fulfil the Duo bookings
