Can anyone recommend any old program that would run on a 386 computer for simple score and music writting.

If you have windoze 3.x then Noteworthy Composer has a 16 bit version that will run. It's probably the most powerful software you can get for the money. And I have found it to be about the simplest one for entering both lyrics and notation. I don't know if "MusicEase" has a 16 bit version or not....

Earlier versions of Encore get my vote. Used them a lot on earlier machines.
