I LOVE the way that mainstream artists in Ireland dabble in their country's folksong. I wish it happened in England. But contemporary fashions in singing folksongs have made many of them inaccessible to non folk audiences. I've always thought Joe Cocker would be great singing Just as the tide was Flowing. |
