No idea how or when this happened but some time ago I found that if I clicked on an internet link in an e-mail, my laptop opened a new page in Word! I can cut and paste the website into IE and it opens or I can right-click and "save as favourite" but it is darned annoying. I have recently upgraded to IE9 but no change.

Hopefully I only need to change some preference somewhere but have no idea what or where.

Any ideas please?

Eddie1

It is quite simple, Eddie (so long as it wasn't done by some malicious software on your machine!):

Go to the start menu in the lower left of the screen, open "Default Programs" (I'm on Vista Home Premium, it may be different or under administrative programs on other systems), then choose "Set Default Programs". Select your browser of choice, then make it the default (either for all types it can open, which is probably best, or you can select certain kinds of file to open).
Hope this helps,

David (WW)

Hi David
Done the trick, thanks!

I've tried to e-mail you a bottle of single malt but that doesn't seem to work either! Probably my gratitude is worth more!

Eddie

Probably just as well, Eddie, as I've never liked whiskey. Now, if had been a good cider, well that would have been different! Glad the fix worked for you.
