Subject: Less Mudcat-More Mudcat..
From: skarpi
Date: 09 Oct 12 - 06:26 AM

As you may have seen , I have not been much on Mudcat , I have had to work my ass out to go and save my home from this crisis Iceland have been in and is in , its not over here elections coming up and many other problems such currency bann ...almost impossible to get foreign currency unless you have flight ticket or you are moving goods to Iceland ..nothing has changed the bankers are still in the banks , and all of them are free no one is in jail and people , well it looks like they have forgot what and who got the land into this crisis ...´´

What I have been doing is that I have payed back almost everything
I had ....so I hope after few months I will be free from being a slave of the banks ..

now I look into a bright future , leaving the anger and the hopeless thoughts of not having food or a house over my head , but it have cost lot of work and rethinking how to do things in a new way , that is one thing , the other is keeping the focus and not loose target .

so I hope I will be more visible here and elsewhere , such as in Getaway next year , and hope fully new events such as festivals in UK
or Canada ....or skandinavia ...long turn plan ...:O) ....

this year I am going to be a grandfather in coming November ....and
looking forward to that :O) but also my music is also going to the studio , so I have to be playing alot to have extra money for that .

So here I come again after going up the mountain ...and now I see I am going down the hill ...soon ...for a bright future ,,:O)

all the best my dear friends where ever you are , take care
Skarpi Iceland ....

Well done Skarpi - don't let the bastards grind you down!

Unfortunately, none of us are free from being slaves of the banks - burn the unsecured bondholders - until we do, this nonsense is going to continue!

Just think Skarpi, you will also be married to a grandmother.

Glad you're winning, I know you've been working very hard, and so you deserve to succeed.

I look forward to the CD.

sandra (who doesn't owe anyone anything, well, maybe a few apologies as I'm human, but none to a bank!)

Skarpi, it would be just if those responsible for what happened to Iceland were brought before the courts and sentences for what they have done. But if they never are, Iceland and its people survive because of people like you. It's not the leaders -- they can only cheer you on. It's those who take up the plow or the hammer and do what must be done.

Good for you! And much happiness to the Little One Coming!

Skarpi, I'm glad to learn that things are looking better for you. Good news indeed.

Now you need to document your new ways of approaching survival and share them with everyone. We're all going to be in your situation before long.

Good work, Skarpi, on putting the financial pressures behind you. I've been on a similar quest myself for the last couple of years. It means pinching a lot of pennies twice before you spend them, but the relief of fewer bills is wonderful.

Well done, Skarpi! You've come over the mountain. Take time to enjoy the view from the peak! You're so wise to have kept your music as a strong focus while you've struggled to weather this storm. I'll look forward to your CD.
The anticipation of a new grand baby is a sweet time indeed! Enjoy! I'l look forward to hearing that this new little being has arrived!

http://americanlivewire.com/world-economic-news-icelands-economy-now-growing-fas/

this is just propaganda , no one has been arrested , no one is in jail the people have to pay by more taxes ....as always ...and this is not true ...

but I am smiling into a new future , I am gonna live my live .

so see you all in Getaway 2013 ...happy , smiling and healthy ...:O)

well KT I can´t wait ....

and about on the mountain top ...I almost there ....but remember the way down can be tricky ..so i have to be strong on last journey down the hill ...so

what did i do ??

well I have not had a credit card for about 6 years .
what ever i need in store I pay with money or a debet card .

i started to pay the oldest bills and then started the way up ,
I had three small loans , I started to pay the oldest one and then the next ...and so on ...

I also have not a new clothes for about 3 years now ..until the last 3 months ...:O) ...

I am not getting things from the store that I don´t need , I don´t drink coca cola , have not done that for 12 years , I only get things I need .

so from now on , if I want something , and I don´t have money for it , then I wait until I have the money ...I don´t take loans , I don´t use credit card I use the bus to work and home again , and save the car ..

I hope I can to alot better than this ....and start to save real money for longer time .., the trouble is that I don´t trust the banks to keep my money ....:O( ...

so more later ...there are lot of other things here in Icelandic finance that is to explain so you understand what is going on here on a normal home ...kv Skarpi

You'vs always had a good attitude toward all this and I am so pleased to hear your hard work and sacrifices are paying off. I have thought of you often but only emailed you a few times in the past couple of years because I remember the tough times you spoke of and some of the sacrifices you made which you did not talk about in this thread.

Congratulations on the new Skarpi! I hope s/he gets your voice and musical talent.

You have made me smile, friend. Thanks.
