Subject: Unashamed Gloats/Moans about Parents

D'Cats--

It occurred to me when reading and delighting in the gloat/moan kids page, that those of us without kids might have something to share too...

Gloat--My dad, at 71, remembers things better than I do (except for where he put the car keys! He's cool to hang with. He's interesting!

Moan--He can STILL embarrass me! (WHY can't I just GROW UP? I don't seem to embarrass him at all, and the Creator knows I do plenty of embarrassing things!!!!)

Gloat, My Dad was 88 this year. He keeps busy upholstering furniture for family and friends. He cut his fingers pretty badly a couple of weeks ago but he's carrying on upholstering with one hand until his fingers heal. He sings all the time while he is working.

Moan -My Mum always used to embarrass me - by asking if I'd been to the toilet. Moan - I wish with all my heart she was still here to do it. (large lump in throat)

Gloat My Dad sing gaelic songs when he is drunk - only he knows this form of gaelic, and he only knows it when he has been at the whisky

Gloat - my folks are healthy and active at 79 and 82 and off touring the country in a van 9 months of the year

Moan: they are never home when I want to see them!

Moan--I'm almost 47, but my folks don't seem to think I can handle my own life. It makes me sad, 'cause I think they did a pretty good job of parenting me & I wish they could see it.

Gloat about my Gran; She's 97, has just taken up the keyboard and moans about my Mum [her daughter], because she doesn't do anything for a hobby...

Gloat: folks just arrived safe and sound in Seattle....(they've been on the road since 10/8) a week ahead of schedule.

moan- They STILL plan on being out of touch for Christmas....
